Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center

Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center is 42,000 square foot building dedicated to visual arts (painting, graphic design, sculpture, drawing) and Dance (classical ballet and modern dance). Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center exhibits the Art Gallery and personal studio space for students. The Center for the Arts is home to the Belhaven Music Department and the Belhaven College Theater Department. The comprehensive 40,000-square-foot Student Center provides a central gathering center for the interactions of students, faculty, and staff. Highlights of the facility include a new 4,000-square-foot College Bookstore, the newly renovated Bailey Dining Commons, the Shoe Bird Café, the Corner Pocket recreation room, the Dr. James W. Park Computer Center, a prayer room, a 49-seat multi-media theatre and the campus post office. In addition, a 7-foot-2- inch Boston piano designed by Steinway has been placed on the first floor. It has a top-of-the-line piano disc player, giving it the capability as a player piano, playing classical gospel and other music forms.
