Since its inception in 1877, Regis University has achieved a reputation for outstanding teaching and groundbreaking programs. The Jesuit tradition stands as the cornerstone of the University, placing an emphasis on top academics alongside of community service. Every student that graduates from Regis leaves with the scholastic, social, spiritual, and physical background then need to serve them in the real world. All undergraduates complete the core curriculum, covering a broad range of study in literature, writing, speech communications, natural science, math, philosophy, religious studies, fine arts, and the social sciences. Annual seminars amplify this foundation by providing practical applications of classroom learning and exploring the question of "How Ought We To Live." First-year students participate in the Freshman Seminar to get oriented at Regis and work with the faculty member that will be their advisor. Because of the Regis Graduation Guarantee, students can be confident that they will be able to complete their degrees in four years; otherwise, the University pays for the additional tuition, pending eligibility. Regis offers a work-study program that guarantees qualified students a job that pays up to $2,400 a year. The University was acknowledged by the latest U.S. News and World Report ratings as one of the Tier One Western Colleges and Universities.
