Bachelor degrees are typically earned within eight semesters. To graduate, each student is required to complete a course of study that meets with approval from the University Provost. The University operates on a two-semester academic calendar, with three sessions in the summer. The University offers students over 45 academic programs of study and a wide variety of minors and concentrations to choose. Among the most competitive academic offerings are 2 entry-level Masters health science majors (Occupational Therapy and Physician Assistant Science) and an entry-level Doctoral program in Physical Therapy. The institution is well known for the cooperative student-faculty research that occurs within the School of Science. Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering and Environmental Engineering are among the most recent program additions to the School of Science. In the School of Arts & Letters Early Childhood Education students may complete dual certification in Special Education in four years. Saint Francis University awards financial aid to greater than 90 percent of its student body. Need-based federal and state awards are awarded based on information obtained from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In order to qualify for financial aid students must apply for admission and complete a FAFSA. Saint Francis University has a generous merit-based scholarship program. Students who have been accepted for admission are awarded merit-based scholarships based upon their academic performance. Academic performance is measured by credentials submitted upon application including high school grade point average, SAT/ACT scores and class rank.
Saint Francis University participates in NCAA Division I athletics in the Northeast Conference. Athletic scholarships may be granted in all 23 athletic teams. Students may also receive scholarship money in Pep Band, Marching Band, Cheerleading, and Dance.

Saint Francis University is a diverse campus community with approximately 2,600 students. Our students arrive at Saint Francis University from over 30 states and 25 countries.
The University provides students many opportunities to exercise their interests and talents. Over 60 on-campus clubs and organizations representing a wide range of interests are available to students. These range from departmental clubs to volunteer organizations, and include social and service sororities and social, service, and business fraternities. Student-run activities on campus include theatre productions, SFU singers, Greek life opportunities for men and women as well as Club Baseball, Ice Hockey and Rugby. Each year, the Student Activities Organization brings a lively docket of comedians, concerts, films, and lectures to campus. The University is a NCAA Division I member institution and maintains a comprehensive program that consists of men's and women's teams. Students may also participate in cheerleading, pep band, and marching band.

Saint Francis University is located on a 600-acre mountaintop campus in the town of Loretto, Pennsylvania. Just 80 miles east of Pittsburgh and 60 miles west of State College, the campus has its own lake, nature trails, ski tubing park and championship golf course. Near to campus are three state parks, four biking/ walking trails and four ski resorts. The beautiful campus has an impressive suite of academic and research facilities as well as 19 residence halls to offer students a comprehensive experience. Student recreational, athletic, eateries and a student union provide each student a robust campus living experience.
Campus Facilities & Equipment
Saint Francis offers a totally wireless campus, computer labs, a Macintosh-based computer lab, and numerous Smart Classrooms. The cost of attendance at Saint Francis includes a laptop computer as well as technical support. Other facilities that complement student learning include well-equipped science labs, on-campus radio and television stations, and the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art.
A recently completed state-of-the-art Science Center sits at the center of campus. The facility houses highly competitive science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs. The DiSepio Institute for Rural Health and Wellness education and research center features the DiSepio Center for Rehabilitation, Student Health Services, Fitness Center, Spiritual Wellness Center, Human Performance Laboratory, and Ernest J. Scharpf Family Conference Center. A complete renovation of Schwab Hall was recently completed in an effort to house the Shields School of Business.
Off-Campus Opportunities
Saint Francis University's Office for Study Abroad offers a truly unique semester abroad program in the beautiful village of Ambialet, in southern France. Students can experience the adventure, beauty, and history of Europe in the halls of a centuries-old Franciscan monastery. Travel and research abroad are components of many academic programs at Saint Francis University. Students are encouraged to engage in the multitude of semester long or condensed travel abroad experiences facilitated by the Office for Study Abroad.
