From The School
Trine University admits applicants on the basis of scholastic achievement and academic potential. Selection is made without regard to race, religion, color, gender, sexual orientation or age. Interested students are encouraged to make individual visits to campus and meet the faculty and students. Trine has a rolling admission process, and applicants are notified of their status within two weeks after completing the application. Applications are considered complete once the office of admission has received the application (online, no application fee), an official high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores. Standard admission requirements include English (four years), mathematics (three years), science (three years), and social studies (two years). In addition to the standard admission requirements, the Allen School of Engineering and Technology requires a semester of trigonometry, a year of chemistry, and a year of physics.
Graduates of community or junior colleges and students who have attended other colleges and universities are eligible for transfer. Counselors work closely with those who wish to transfer to ensure a smooth transition to Trine. Credit may be allowed in subjects that parallel Trine programs, provided the student earned a grade of C or better in the course from an accredited college or university.

Academic Programs
Trine has a reputation for academic rigor and success. Over the last four years, 99 percent were employed or enrolled in graduate school within six months of graduating. About 90 percent of Trine students complete an internship, co-op or other experiential learning.
Chemical engineering seniors have won the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) national individual design competition multiple times, including several awards in 2017. Mechanical engineering students can study in one of the top three cast metals programs in the country, as determined by the Foundry Education Foundation. Trine's Tau Alpha Omicron chapter of the American Criminal Justice Association (ACJA) annually wins regional and national awards for marksmanship, crime scene investigation and physical agility.
Trine University provides graduates with skills and perspectives to enhance lifelong learning, improve communication, and drive innovation and entrepreneurship. Trine's quality academic programs are designed to promote project-based learning and prepare students to enter leadership roles during their careers.
In spring 2015, Trine created the College of Engineering and Business to combine the strengths of the Allen School of Engineering and the Ketner School of Business. The new organizational structure develops engineering and business skills for students who will be responsible for innovative solutions and results in the 21st century.
Biomedical, civil, chemical, computer, electrical, mechanical, software and design engineering technology programs in the Allen School of Engineering and Technology (ABET accredited abet.org) provide a fundamental, application-oriented engineering education. In addition to specialized fields, students are required to complete courses in communication skills, socio-humanistic studies, and analysis and design. The Ketner School of Business, one of the few nationally accredited (ACBSP acbsp.org) business programs in the region, offers a broad range of hands-on, practical experiences that acquaint students with the practices, procedures and problems of contemporary business.
Teacher preparation first began in 1884, and in that tradition, the Franks School of Education is nationally accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (caepnet.org) and the Department of Education/Office of Educator Licensing and Development (DOE/OELD) doe.in.gov/licensing. In fall 2015, the Franks School began offering a dual licensure program in elementary education and special education for kindergarten through grade 6 (trine.edu/specialed).
The Jannen School of Arts and Sciences is known for its career-oriented, challenging and competitive programs in criminal justice and the sciences. Nationally known guest lecturers frequently visit campus, and internships and experiential learning opportunities are considered vital to the total educational experience.
Trine's Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences prepares students for careers in industrial research, forensic science and the health-care industry with clinical experience to complement studies.
