Already thinking about graduate or professional school related to medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, and law? Virginia Tech will give you a solid academic background, and you’ll be assigned an advisor who will help you choose appropriate classes, internships, and relevant educational experiences to complete your graduation requirements.
Our teachers will help you become a teacher. If you see yourself teaching at the secondary level, major in the subject area most closely related to what you’d like to teach, or select the pre-education and human sciences, undecided option. If you want to become an elementary school teacher, popular majors include human development and psychology. Either way, once you’ve nearly completed your bachelor’s degree, you’ll apply for admission to a master’s degree program in one of the education fields, where you’ll complete requirements and pedagogical courses for a teaching license.
