Overall
From The School
Originating in 1963, more than 70 percent of the SVSU campus has been constructed in the last 15 years, resulting in modern facilities well equipped for high-tech lab and classroom resources. SVSU's main campus is centrally located within the State of Michigan and near Mid-Michigan's tri-cities of Saginaw, Bay City and Midland. This centralized location allows the campus to sit outside of larger city limits, but is close to all that those cities and nearby Detroit has to offer. Currently, a $25 million building expansion is being made to host the Scott L. Carmona College of Business and Management.
Facilities
Along with the majority of SVSU's buildings and facilities being constructed in the last 15 years, the Scott L. Carmona College of Business and Management is currently under construction and will be completed in 2020. This $25 million expansion project will include state-of-the-art technology, such as an innovation lab, which offers a cross-disciplinary space where students can develop products and market solutions, a consumer behavior lab, which will have observation rooms to study what influences consumer's decisions for faculty and student research, and a Bloomberg Trading Room, which tracks stock data in real time.
Students
Students often can be found gathering in the newly-renovated Melvin J. Zahnow Library, watching one of the 16 Division II varsity sporting events or eating lunch from Subway or Panda Express in the Cardinal Café. Graduate student enrollment makes up about 15% of total enrollment at SVSU. While full-time study is available for SVSU Graduate students, most students study part-time and are working professionals whom are employed full-time.
