The Princeton Review & Entrepreneur Name the Top 25 Undergrad & Grad Schools for Entrepreneurship Studies for 2018

NEW YORK, November 14, 2017 /—The Princeton Review® and Entrepreneur magazine today announced the results of The Princeton Review's 12th annual survey naming the 25 undergraduate and 25 graduate schools best for entrepreneurship studies.

Babson College captured the #1 spot on the undergraduate entrepreneurship programs ranking list for the 6th consecutive year. Harvard University finished #1 on the graduate entrepreneurship programs list for the 4th consecutive year.

Out of more than 300 schools offering entrepreneurship studies that The Princeton Review surveyed, 38 institutions' undergraduate and/or graduate programs made the roster of top schools for 2018. The two lists of top 25 undergraduate and graduate schools for entrepreneurship studies can be found below.

The rankings can be viewed on https://www.entrepreneur.com/topcolleges and will be published in the December issue of Entrepreneur magazine, available on newsstands November 28. The   feature also outlines key insights for potential students, including the number of entrepreneur-related courses offered and the number of startups launched by grads in the past five years from each program.

The Princeton Review posted the lists at www.princetonreview.com/best-business-schools as well as the methodology for the survey, criteria for the rankings, and detailed profiles of the schools.

The Princeton Review conducted a 60-question survey from May through August 2017. The survey asked schools to report on levels of their commitment to entrepreneurship studies inside and outside the classroom. More than 40 data points were analyzed for the tally to determine the rankings. Topics included: the percentage of faculty, students, alumni actively and successfully involved in entrepreneurial endeavors, the number and reach of mentorship programs, scholarships and grants for entrepreneurial studies, and the level of support for school-sponsored business plan competitions.

The 2018 list includes five newcomers to the undergraduate list: North Carolina State University (#19), Ball State University (#20), The University of Kansas (#21), Oklahoma State University (#24) and Drexel University (#25). Three schools are new on the graduate list: New York University (#17), The George Washington University (#24), and University of California San Diego (#25).

Many schools on the lists have exceptional offerings. Among them, Rice University, #2 on the graduate list, offers one of the largest and richest graduate student business plan competitions. Last year, it awarded $1,796,850 for student entrepreneurial projects. At Baruch College, #5 on the undergraduate list, students graduating within the last five years have started 832 companies that have raised $1.7 billion in funding. At the University of Michigan, #4 on the undergraduate list, students have access to 375 different mentors that support students’ entrepreneurial efforts.

These colleges and business schools have superb entrepreneurship programs,  said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review's Editor-in-Chief. We highly recommend them to any applicant aspiring to launch a business. Their faculties are truly engaged in entrepreneurism. Their courses are rich with in-class and out-of-class experiential components, and the financial and networking support their students and programs receive via donors and alumni is extraordinary.

We publish this ranking every year to help entrepreneurs find the best learning-focused environments,  says Jason Feifer, editor in chief of  Entrepreneur  magazine. The list is an excellent resource, and I hope everyone interested in undergraduate or graduate programs spends some time with it. The schools on this list can help prepare students for exciting, entrepreneurial futures.

This is the 12th year that Entrepreneur has partnered with The Princeton Review to publish this list. Only schools that participate in The Princeton Review entrepreneurship program survey are eligible for consideration for the rankings. The company also reports school rankings in several other categories in its annual books The Best 382 Colleges and Colleges That Pay You Back . All Princeton Review rankings are accessible at www.PrincetonReview.com.
