LGBT Support Groups: Queer Straight Alliance (QSA) The primary purpose of the Westfield State University Queer Straight Alliance is to educate the club and the campus community about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender issues. The club will take an active role in providing its members and the campus with educational information and activities pertaining to sexual orientation, transgender and all gender variant identities and diversity.

Minority Support Groups: a. Black Student Union Black Student Union was created to bring students of African American descent, and students of other descents, together to build a better sense of community. Black Student Union will not only help promote diversity but bring pride, unity to our community on campus. Black Student Union will focus on the social aspect of our campus and ensure that there are activities to do within the campus that is of black student interest. We will also strive to educate people on African American history and culture that exhibits our beauty creativity and struggle. b. International and Intercultural Club This student club will support students of other nations or cultures, and students who are interested in interacting with students of other nations or cultures. The club will provide these students with an opportunity to meet, to share experiences, to act as peer mentors, and to develop and facilitate programming. c. Jewish Student Organization The purpose of this organization is to experience the Jewish culture as a group and to spread awareness of important Jewish issues and traditions to the Westfield State University community. d. Latino Association (LAFE) LAFE is an educational, political and social organization of students at Westfield State that supports awareness of multicultural issues on campus. e. Multicultural Student Association The Multicultural Student Association exists to provide the community with opportunities to learn about and appreciate Third World cultures and issues. f. Muslim Student Organization Fulfillment of religious needs of Westfield State University Muslim students, faculty and staff is the primary mission of MSO. Its mission also includes presenting Islam and representing local Muslims in the society at large. It strives to build constructive relationships with both Muslims and non-Muslims in general, and with other faith communities in particular. g. Students Advocating for Gender Equality The purpose of SAGE is to promote the discussion and support of student opportunities to encourage change for more equitable society. SAGE is committed to raising awareness about gender through activism to achieve equality. h. Westfield State Veterans Association To provide a social group setting to help veterans, current military personnel and their families adjust and become successful in civilian and college life. To provide military and veteran informational support to interested students and their family members. Establish and maintain a fellowship between this association and the campus community. Organizing projects and participating in events pertaining to goals of this association and the general campus population.
